Artist's Description

If the purpose of my manly existence is to procreate and provide financial stability to a family, then I am no longer relevant. If my condition for being on this earth involves the acquisition and hoarding of resources, then the lottery makes more logical sense than fighting another hand in the cookie jar. If our emotional longings are merely preordained responses to our innate nature scrambling to maintain a foothold in this world, then I'm no longer feeling. By all familiar social contracts I am impossible, yet here I am, existing. Am I taking up precious space, consuming depleted resources, breathing up needed air... or do I present the world with discordance for its need of contemplation? Does the difference require self-justification or is that another's task?
