The incentive of happiness usurped by an assumption of acquisition, brought forth by those who so benefit. When did our emotions require a middleman to justify them? The moment we commodified our pleasures, relying on a market to give them value. The profit motive work ethic ventures from boardroom to bedroom, all elsewhere gets socially micromanaged for worth and efficiency. Happiness becomes quantifiable: misery becomes accountable. How much happiness can you accumulate in this paradigm? What is your misery quotient?
About Will Felix
Will Felix was born in Brooklyn, NY. His art career developed in Orlando, FL, where his work has been on display in several venues, including the Orlando Museum of Art and City Hall. Subsequent moves to New York City in 2000 and Akron, OH in 2004 have provided varied influences and venues for his career. He now resides in Williamsburg, VA.
